I have been inspired by the sunshine (and seeing my first swallow of 2021) to pick up my pen, so to speak.It has been a long and dreary winter. I miss John more than ever, but life goes on, regardless! My love to you and Katharine, and let's hope we may soon be able to see friends like you more freely.

Dear Marion,
A lovely letter to read just now after a long stint trying to fix our fridge, which would have chosen a Saturday midday to have developed a wretched fault – typical! Like you, the family and many others, I am still trying come to terms with John’s passing and what keeps his memory upper-most in my mind is the bird life in our part of the world, especially the game birds. John’s special day today – Katharine and I shall certainly ‘raise a glass’ to him, a very special friend, this evening!
